An assistant librarian, named Auber, finds a crystal necklace hidden inside one of the books in his uncle's library. He takes it out of curiosity. The very next day a band of pirates burst in and he discovers that this necklace is a clue to finding a hidden treasure. Because he was found studying it, the pirates think that he can lead them to the coveted treasure.
So Auber is whisked away against his will. On the large sailing ship, he must convince them that he is who they think he is or take the risk of being killed instantly. Throughout this impossible adventure, he must lie and trick them into believing he knows exactly where he's going.. even though he has no clue.
